avoMD: Preoperative Eval offers a quick, interactive, and educational tool designed to assist clinicians in evaluating and preparing adult patients for noncardiac surgery. The application is primarily based on the 2014 ACC/AHA Perioperative Guidelines, supplemented with insights sourced from literature reviews up to September 2020. It was developed in collaboration with Dr. Steven Cohn, a respected authority in Perioperative Medicine.

The application considers patient co-morbidities, medications, and features interactive medical calculators such as RCRI, MICA, ACS-SRC, and DASI to help clinicians evaluate surgical risks effectively. avoMD includes references to evidence-based sources and best practices, along with detailed explanations of recommendations, aiming to enrich clinicians' knowledge.

Dr. Steven Cohn, currently a Professor Emeritus at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, has an extensive background that includes serving as the Medical Director of the UHealth Preoperative Assessment Center (UPAC) and the Medical Consultation Services at the University of Miami Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has held notable positions such as Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at SUNY Downstate and Director of the Preoperative Medical Consultation Clinic and Medical Consultation Service at Kings County Hospital Center.

avoMD translates clinical guidelines and content into advanced interactive applications. The team comprises professionals from renowned institutions like Columbia, Yale, and Harvard.
